  1. Dear God in heaven.

And I thought I wrote some appalling headlines in my day.

I will confess to “No moos / would be / bad news” but that was about importing cows to the Hamilton County Fair (as there were no cows in Hamilton County but how can you have a county fair without cows?) not earthquakes and tsunamis and nuclear meltdowns.

Plus, it’s a bad break. The comma shouldn’t come mid-line like that.

    Humph.

  2. “No moos / would be / bad news” is an excellent headline. What reader would not be compelled to take a glance at that story?

While they are not all of “Nuclear Meltdown” caliber, the Enquirer delivers at least one egregiously bad headline per edition. (From today’s front page, the aggressively uninformative “Boehner strategy tested.” A strategy has been tested? When and how?? Drown me in my coffee, please.)

Kristen, I want to extend all grace and forgiveness to our fellow journalists. But they’re not even trying.

  3. i know people from cincy and they love white castle. i really figured the white castle article was from the enquirer.
