Special Saturday Edition of Friday Recommends: The George Clooney Haircut

August 16, 2008 · 1 Comment

If you are a man and you still have hair, we cannot recommend the George Clooney Haircut enough. No matter how late you are arriving to the trend.

Not this one.

This one.

The Clooney Cut actually predates Mr. Clooney himself, originally gaining fashion traction with Julius Caesar (and commonly referred to, pre-1990, as the Caesar Cut). As noted on The Shave of Beverly Hills’ website,

The Caesar barber shop style cut is a men’s hairstyle, with a short, horizontally straight cut fringe. The barber hair style is layered to around 1 to 2 inches all over. It is named after Julius Caesar, whose images frequently depict him wearing his hairstyle in such a manner. For American youths of the 1990s, this barber shop style is also called a Clooney cut, because it was worn by actor George Clooney on the TV show ER.

While especially popular with American youths of the 1990s, the Clooney Cut transcends time period. Any man fortunate enough to grow hair today should be proud to sport the Clooney Cut without fear of snarky remarks from his peers.

Julius Caesar. George Clooney. Leaders of Men. Hair That Stands The Test of Time.
